Stopping Panic Attacks Using The Distraction Method

Thinking back to the day when my wife discovered she had schizo-affective disorder, work was not an option because she could not focus herself on anything, and she was confronting panic attacks and hallucinations that disturbed her so much that that there would never be anything that would succeed in stopping panic attacks. She was always sleepy. Nervousness set in and all she could think of at that time were depressing thoughts. It did not even help that she was left with nothing to do during those days because of the fact that she could not keep her focus on anything.Finally , her therapist suggested to my wife that she try using distraction techniques in order to help with schizo-affective disorder and aid in stopping panic attacks. So, my wife took the advice and did several activities to keep her mind busy. She began to jog with her father every other day. She did aerobics three times a week. She also tried some freelance writing to keep her mind off of things.In the beginning, keeping herself distracted seemed to work as my wife had little time to think about her condition. She was able to get in shape and even earn some money from her frelancing jobs. But eventually, after she was done with everything she needed to do, she cannot help but think about her encountering schizo-affective disorder. And with her commitment to stay fit decreasing, she went back to focusing on her condition and But then, when my wife learned about Psycho-Cybernetics, she realized that because of the way she took her condition, her self-image got bruised in the process. She knew that she became this insecure, paranoid, low self-confident person who lost all vigor for life. She realized that although, she has schizo-affective disorder, it does not mean that she can overcome it. She can rise up from this major trial and turn this into an opportunity. Now, my wife is able to accept the condition that my wife has and she sees it as an opportunity rather than a failure. By changing her self-image she reshaped her mind and body. She learned how to look at herself in a helthy manner which allowed her to be free from panic attacks all the time. She finally came into her own , and "got to know herself" better, so to speak. She is very happy now in both her career and family life.
